Akdeniz University, Faculty of Fine Arts and the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sport will held the Ist International Book Arts Symposium and Marbling Art Workshop between the dates of March 21–22–23–24, 2012 within the events of the 30th year of the foundation of our university and March 22nd World Water Day.



We are planning to have submission of the papers, opening a Marbling exhibition and a workshop within the activities of Book Arts (Calligraphy, Ornamentation, Miniature, Kaat??, Bookbinding and Marbling)

Instructions on how to prepare a communique



Oral and Poster communique conditions of preparation are as follows:

1. Oral communiques

a. Oral communique should be maximum 10 pages.

b. The rules of writing oral communique which are sent for the publication in the symposium proceedings are as follows:

Text of communique; Turkish and English title, author name (names), address and e-mails information, 200 word Turkish and English summary, Turkish main text and bibliography should be included. The references in the text should include a connector to the bibliography. Oral and Poster communiques should be word format and Times New Roman, 12 font size and 1.5 line spacing should be used. The photographs which are used in the text should be saved as TIFF or JPG format in a CD.



2. Poster communiques

a. Posters will be remained suspended during the symposium.

b. Poster size should be 70 cm width, 90 cm length

c. 200 word Turkish summary should be prepared.

d. The rules of writing oral papers also valid for the poster papers.

e. Because of the fact that Poster communique will also be in the symposium proceeding maximum 10 page and poster communique with photograph’s text with 200 word Turkish and English summary should be sent until 25 February 2012. The photographs which are used in the text should be saved as TIFF or JPG format in a CD.

THE PROGRAMME OF THE 1stINTERNATIONAL BOOK ARTS SYMPOSIUM AND MARBLING ART WORKSHOP





• 21st March 2012 Accommodation at hotel



• 22nd March 2012 Symposium Beginning and Exhibition Preparations



• 22nd March 2012 Masters Exhibition Opening (at 17.30)

(Artist who will participate in the workshop with their work/s should send their work/s until 19th March to Instructor Nurhan KARATAÞ, to that address: Akdeniz University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Picture. The artists can participate in the exhibition with 3 works maximum. It is possible to participate in the workshop by only delivering the works without coming to the workshop.





• The workshop will be held on 23th March 2012. Workshop activity will be divided into two groups as masters and students. At the end of the workshop participants will show live-performance and a mixed exhibition will include those works.

(After 17.00, the preparation of exhibition will start.)



• 24th March 2012 at 10:00 Opening of mixed exhibition which include the works of workshop. Between 11:00-18:00 Antalya trip will be held.



• The marbling works which are done during the workshos and activities, will be remained in the University.



• The participants should bring only marbling box/ Ebru teknesi?? for the workshop. Other materials will be provided by our university. (the university can provide the marbling box for the international participants, if requested)



• For the symposium and workshop, travel expenses should be covered by the participants,and accommodation, meal and trip programme expenses will be covered by the university.

•All the activities during the workshop will be published in the papers book and exhibition catalogue.



• Detailed information about the programme will be given by the secretariat within the second mailing.
